About Us

Under a license from the Ministry of Education (MOE) and a license from Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), At-Tamimi opened its doors in January of 2007, with a goal and vision of providing quality education, while instilling students with correct Islamic teachings, morals, and etiquettes. At its inception, At-Tamimi began with a three-shop lot, two pre-school classes, four primary classes, twenty-five students, and ten instructors. With its reputation for excellence and the need to expand, in 2011 At-Tamimi moved to its current facility in USJ 19, Subang Jaya to better accommodate our growing number of students. In 2013, At-Tamimi received approval from the MOE to open its doors to secondary students, offering now both primary and secondary education, in addition to a pre-school.

At-Tamimi Integrated Islamic School (AIIS) emphasizes the mercy, compassion and limitless love of Allah. Students are encouraged to always wonder at Allah’s creation; looking through Muslim eyes at history, math, science and all of human knowledge and to think, as Allah has commanded, inquisitively and creatively. The human intellect is at the pinnacle of Allah’s creation. Insha’Allah, we will raise thinking Muslims who truly understand their religion and its practices. Children succeed when they are intimately involved in their own learning. The teacher provides guidance and support within an environment of choice and active participation by the children. We emphasize compassion, respect and justice for all humanity regardless or ethnicity, social status or religion.

At-Tamimi Integrated Islamic School upholds the Islamic tradition of great respect for knowledge and an open spirit of inquiry. The rich vein of excellence in learning within the Islamic heritage is the foundation of the rigorous academic program which is intended to serve the needs of the modern world without sacrificing moral and spiritual values. Since the Islamic faith addresses the complete personality, it is AIIS’s belief that knowledge of the world and practice of our shared beliefs should be integrated into a cohesive whole.

Our mission and commitment to all students is to:
  • Provide quality, educational programs that integrate internationally recognized curriculums with Islamic and Arabic studies.
  • Promote excellent personal manners, high moral values, and strong leadership skills that align with teachings in the Qur’an and Sunnah
  • Prepare students for becoming good citizens and contributing members of society and the global world at large
  • Empower students to seek and succeed in post-secondary education and beyond, by developing inquisitive, analytical minds through contextual teaching and learning
  • Instill tolerance by embracing ethnic and cultural differences and understanding in line with Islamic principles of respect and peace

The central goal of At-Tamimi Integrated Islamic School is the formation of Muslim character as described in the following statement: A Muslim pursues spiritual goals through all his/her worldly endeavors. His/her behavior embodies and reflects Islamic morals and values. Pursuit of knowledge is among a Muslim’s highest priorities, and a spirit of inquiry is the prerequisite. Faith and action work together to lead a Muslim toward higher knowledge and progress, sound individual life choices, and service to society. The school seeks to develop in our students the values which define a Muslim: honesty, compassion, respect for self and others, pride in work, a commitment to justice, and acceptance of differences.

IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organisation works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB candidacy

In our continued pursuit of academic excellence, At-Tamimi is also pleased and honoured to announce that we are the first and only Integrated Islamic school to be awarded International Baccalaureate (IB) candidacy status in Malaysia. Working closely with the IB governing body, At-Tamimi is currently offering the IB Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme, while working diligently to become an authorized IB World School. And by the grace of Allah, we have now also been authorised by the IB governing body to deliver the Diploma Programme in 2019. These three internationally recognized programmes will allow At-Tamimi to supplement our commitment to quality Islamic education with a reputable continuous curriculum from pre-school to pre-university, opening many doors for our students upon graduation.
